UTampa Named One of the Best Colleges by the Princeton Review

University of Tampa again has been named by The Princeton Review as one of the nation’s best institutions for undergraduate education, and is described as a “sunny, growing, global university” by the book’s editors at The Princeton Review.

Only 15% of U.S. four-year colleges and universities are selected for inclusion.

University of Tampa again has been named by The Princeton Review as one of the nation’s best institutions for undergraduate education, and is described as a “sunny, growing, global university” by the book’s editors at The Princeton Review.

The rankings in The Best 391 Colleges are based on surveys of 170,000 students at 391 top colleges.

“The colleges we profile in our Best Colleges book are a truly select group. They constitute only about 15% of America’s nearly 2,400 four-year institutions,” said Rob Franek, editor-in-chief of The Princeton Review and the book’s lead author.

In its profile, students praise UTampa’s “many resources and opportunities … (that provide) hands-on and experiential learning.” They also acknowledge the professors who are “very much available for extra help or extra explanations both during and outside of class,” and who give students “the opportunity to create and carry out experiments.”

Students also mentioned that UTampa is “very diverse in that people from all different cultures make up the community,” and as such, students are introduced to a large variety of “beliefs, backgrounds, ethnicities and ideologies.”

In a “Survey Snapshot” sidebar, The Princeton Review lists topics that the surveyed UTampa students were in most agreement about in their answers. The list includes: “Students love Tampa, FL,” “Easy to get around campus,” and “Recreation facilities are great.”

In The Princeton Review’s ranking scores, UTampa scored highest in the categories of “Fire Safety,” “Admission Selectivity,” “Professors Accessible” and “Quality of Life.”

Also, in Princeton Review’s “2026 Best Colleges: Region by Region” web feature, UTampa is recognized as one of the top colleges in the South.
